Stick the Feather on the Turkey
A class room game for American Thanksgiving.
This game is easy to prepare
and it is a
funny way to teach new words such as: colours, up, down, in front of, back, left, right,
turn, and so on.
|

|
You need:

|
- Two large pieces of construction paper, where you draw a
big turkey
without the feathers of the tale
- On the other piece of construction paper you draw a feather for each
of the participants
- Colours
- Scotch-tape or Blue Tack
- Scissors
- A scarf to blindfold the players
|
What to do and how to play
|
- Prepare a feather for each player.
- Ask each player to colour the feather with one or more colours.
- Put a piece of scotch-tape or Blue Tack on the back of the
feather.
- Blindfold the player.
- Spin him/her around a couple of times. (Be careful not to make
players sick!)
- The remaining players then verbally direct (left, right, up, down,
behind you, in front of you, etc.) the blindfolded player to the
correct placement of his/her feather.
- To make this more competitive, you may ask each player to write
his or her name on his or her feather, and then divide students into
teams.
- Take turns choosing players from each team. Only a player's
team-mate(s) can offer directions.
- The winning team is the team with the most feathers successfully
placed.
Have fun!
